εἰκότως οὖν ἐκ τῶν κατὰ πόλεις βλαβερωτάτων συνηθειῶν εἰς ἐρήμην ἀπαγαγών, ἵνα κενώσῃ τὰς ψυχὰς ἀδικημάτων, ἤρξατο προσφέρειν ταῖς διανοίαις τροφάς· αὗται δὲ τίνες ἂν εἶεν ὅτι μὴ νόμοι καὶ λόγοι θεῖοι;
