Κλέπτειν δ’ ἀπειπὼν ἑξῆς ψευδομαρτυρεῖν ἀπαγορεύει, πολλοῖς καὶ μεγάλοις καὶ πᾶσι χαλεποῖς τοὺς ψευδομάρτυρας ἐνόχους εἰδώς. τὸ μὲν γὰρ πρῶτον φθείρουσι τὴν σεμνὴν ἀλήθειαν, ἧς οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν βίῳ κτῆμα ἱερώτερον, ἡλίου τρόπον φῶς τοῖς πράγμασι περιτιθείσης, ἵνα μηδὲν αὐτῶν ἐπισκιάζηται.
