ὁ δὲ δεύτερος κεφάλαιόν ἐστι πάντων, ὅσα περὶ χειροκμήτων ἐνομοθετεῖτο, ἀγάλματα καὶ ξόανα καὶ συνόλως ἀφιδρύματα, ὧν γραφικὴ καὶ πλαστικὴ βλαβεραὶ δημιουργοί, κατασκευάζειν οὐκ ἐῶν οὐδ’ ὅσα μύθων πλάσματα προσίεσθαι, θεογαμίαν καὶ θεογονίαν καὶ τὰς ἀμφοτέραις ἑπομένας ἀμυθήτους καὶ ἀργαλεωτάτας κῆρας.
