μετὰ δὲ ταῦτα λέγωμεν τὴν αἰτίαν, δι’ ἣν τοὺς δέκα λόγους ἢ νόμους ἀπεφήνατο ψιλαῖς προστάξεσι καὶ ἀπαγορεύσεσι κατὰ τῶν παραβησομένων, ὡς ἔθος νομοθέταις, μηδὲν ὁρίσας ἐπιτίμιον· θεὸς ἦν, εὐθὺς δὲ κύριος ἀγαθός, μόνων ἀγαθῶν αἴτιος, κακοῦ δ’ οὐδενός.
