τί δὲ δεῖ καταλέγεσθαι τὰς δεκάδος ἀρετὰς ἀπείρους τὸ πλῆθος, πάρεργον ποιουμένους ἔργον μέγιστον, ὃ καθ’ αὑτὸ συμβέβηκεν αὐταρκεστάτην εἶναι ὑπόθεσιν τοῖς περὶ τὰ μαθήματα διατρίβουσι; τὰς μὲν οὖν ἄλλας ὑπερθετέον, μιᾶς δ’ οὐκ ἄτοπον ἴσως ἐπιμνησθῆναι δείγματος ἕνεκα.
