ἀλλ’ ὁ μὲν θεὸς ἅπαξ κατεχρήσατο ταῖς ἓξ ἡμέραις πρὸς τὴν τοῦ κόσμου τελείωσιν μήκους χρόνων οὐ προσδεόμενος· ἀνθρώπων δ’ ἕκαστος ἅτε θνητῆς φύσεως μετέχων καὶ μυρίων ἐνδεὴς ὢν πρὸς τὰς ἀναγκαίας τοῦ βίου χρείας ὀφείλει μὴ κατοκνεῖν ἐκπορίζειν τὰ ἐπιτήδεια μέχρι τελευτῆς τοῦ βίου διαναπαυόμενος τὰς ἱερὰς ἑβδομάδας.
