σὺ δ’ ἄνευ μὲν ἀνάγκης χρήσῃ τοῖς μετρίοις, ἐὰν δέ που βιασθῇς εἰς πλειόνων ἀπόλαυσιν ἐλθεῖν, λογισμὸν τῆς ἀνάγκης ἐπιστήσας ἡγεμόνα τὴν ἡδονὴν εἰς ἀηδίαν οὐδέποτε ἐκτρέψεις, ἀλλ’, εἰ χρὴ τὸν τρόπον εἰπεῖν τοῦτον, νηφάλια μεθυσθήσῃ.
