ὁ Λάβαν τοῦ γένους ἐστὶ τούτου· τὴν γὰρ ἄσημον αὐτῷ ποίμνην οἱ χρησμοὶ προσνέμουσιν (Gen. 30,42)· ἄσημος δὲ ἐν μὲν τοῖς ὅλοις ἡ ἄποιος ὕλη, ἐν ἀνθρώποις δὲ ἡ ἀμαθὴς ψυχὴ καὶ ἀπαιδαγώγητος.
