τὸ δὲ μὴ πρὸς πάντα οἰκεῖον προσέρχεσθαι τῆς σαρκὸς ἔχει λόγον ἀναγκαῖον. ἔνια γὰρ προσετέον, οἷον αὐτὰ τὰ ἐπιτήδεια, οἷς χρώμενοι ζῆν ἀνόσως καὶ ὑγιεινῶς δυνησόμεθα, τὰ δὲ περιττὰ σκορακιστέον, ὑφ’ ὧν ἐξαπτόμεναι αἱ ἐπιθυμίαι τὰ σπουδαῖα πάντα ῥύμῃ μιᾷ καταφλέγουσι.
