τί δὲ τοῦτό ἐστιν, ἄξιον ἀναπτύξαι· πολλάκις οὐ γενόμενοί τινες πορισταὶ χρημάτων ἄφθονον ἔσχον περιουσίαν, ἕτεροι δὲ δόξαν οὐκ ἐπιτηδεύσαντες ἐπαίνων δημοσίᾳ καὶ τιμῶν ἠξιώθησαν, τοῖς δὲ οὐδὲ μικρὰν ἰσχὺν ἐλπίσασι μεγίστη προσεγένετο εὐτονία.
