ἀλλ’ οὐ παρόσον ἀδύνατος ἡ ὄψις ψυχῶν φαντασιωθῆναι τύπους, διὰ τοῦτ’ οὔκ εἰσιν ἐν ἀέρι ψυχαί, καταλαμβάνεσθαι δ’ αὐτὰς ἀναγκαῖον ὑπὸ νοῦ, ἵνα πρὸς τῶν ὁμοίων τὸ ὅμοιον θεωρῆται. ἐπεὶ καὶ τί φήσομεν;
