ὁ μὲν οὖν βασιλεὺς ἀκούσας προστάττει συντείναντας ἀνακαλεῖν τὸν νεανίαν. οἱ δ’ ἀποκείραντες — βαθεῖαι γὰρ ἦσαν αὐτῷ χαῖται καθειργμένῳ κεφαλῆς καὶ γενείου—καὶ ἀντὶ ῥυπώσης λαμπρὰν ἐσθῆτα ἀντιδόντες καὶ τἄλλα φαιδρύναντες εἰσάγουσιν αὐτὸν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα·
