ἀνδρός, ὧν οὐδεὶς ἔτ’ ἐστὶ γήρως ἐπιστάντος. τὰ δ’ ἄλλα ὅσα περὶ τὸ σῶμα οὐκ ἐνύπνια; οὐ κάλλος μὲν ἐφήμερον, πρὶν ἀνθῆσαι μαραινόμενον; ὑγεία δὲ ἀβέβαιον διὰ τὰς ἐφέδρους ἀσθενείας; ἰσχὺς δ’ εὐάλωτον νόσοις ἐκ μυρίων προφάσεων; ἥ τ’ ἀκρίβεια τῶν αἰσθήσεων οὐ παγία ῥεύματος ἐνστάσει βραχέος ἀνατρέπεται.
