θανάτου.“ χαλεπῶς δὲ τὴν ἀπειλὴν φερόντων καὶ ἐφ’ οἷς ἐσυκοφαντοῦντο καταδυομένων ὁ τέταρτος καθ’ ἡλικίαν — ἦν δὲ τολμητὴς μετ’ αἰδοῦς καὶ θαρραλέος, παρρησίαν τὴν ἄνευ ἀναισχυντίας ἐπιτετηδευκώς — προσελθών φησι· „δέομαι, δέσποτα, μὴ θυμῷ χαρίσασθαι μηδ’ ὅτι τέταξαι τὴν μετὰ βασιλέα τάξιν προκαταγνῶναι πρὸ τῆς ἀπολογίας ἡμῶν.
