οὕτως δὲ καὶ ἡ ψυχὴ τοῦ φιλομαθοῦς, ὅταν ἐπιφορηθῇ τὸ τῶν θεωρημάτων ἄχθος, ταπεινοτέρα μὲν οὐ γίνεται, διαναστᾶσα δὲ γέγηθεν· ἐκ δὲ τῆς ἐπαναπολήσεως καὶ ὥσπερ ἐπιλεάνσεως τῆς πρῶτον καταβληθείσης τροφῆς περιγίνεται μνήμη τῶν θεωρημάτων.
