ἰδοῦσα δὲ εὐπαράδεκτον ἀρετῆς τὴν τοῦ παιδὸς φύσιν ὅλην ἐξεκένωσε τὴν ὑδρίαν εἰς τὸ ποτιστήριον, τουτέστι τὴν τοῦ διδάσκοντος ἅπασαν ἐπιστήμην εἰς τὴν ψυχὴν τοῦ μανθάνοντος. σοφισταὶ μὲν γὰρ ὑπὸ μισθαρνίας ἅμα καὶ φθόνου τὰς τῶν γνωρίμων κολούοντες φύσεις πολλὰ τῶν ἃ χρὴ λέγειν ἡσυχάζουσι ταμιευόμενοι τὸν ἀργυρισμὸν εἰσαῦθις ἑαυτοῖς·
