Εὖ μέντοι καὶ τὰ ἄλλα τὰ περὶ τὰς ὁμιλίας ὁ νόμος διετάξατο. κελεύει γὰρ οὐ μόνον ἀλλοτρίων ἀπέχεσθαι γυναικῶν, ἀλλὰ καὶ χηρευουσῶν μητρυιῶν, αἷς οὐ θέμις συνέρχεσθαι. τὸ Περσικὸν ἔθος εὐθὺς ἀποστραφεὶς καὶ μυσαξάμενος ἀπεῖπεν ὡς μέγιστον ἀνοσιούργημα· μητέρας γὰρ οἱ ἐν τέλει Περσῶν τὰς ἑαυτῶν ἄγονται καὶ τοὺς φύντας ἐκ τούτων εὐγενεστάτους νομίζουσι καὶ βασιλείας, ὡς λόγος, τῆς μεγίστης ἀξιοῦσιν·
