πάντα δὲ τὰ εἰρημένα ὑφηγήσεις εἰσὶ καὶ διδασκαλίαι πολλαχοῦ τῆς νομοθεσίας ἐστηλιτευμέναι, τοὺς μὲν εὐπειθεῖς μαλακώτερον ἀναπείθουσαι τοὺς δὲ ἀπειθεστέρους ἐμβριθέστερον καταφρονεῖν τῶν περὶ σῶμα καὶ ἐκτός, ἓν μὲν τέλος ἡγουμένους τὸ κατ’ ἀρετὴν βιοῦν, ζηλοῦντας δὲ καὶ τἄλλα ὅσα ἀγωγὰ πρὸς τοῦτο.
