ν ὀνομα ναι σύμφημι δήπου, καὶ τὸ μὴ κατὰ τὸν χρ υσὸν καὶ τὸν ἄργυρον εὐκοσμεῖν τὴν πόησ ιν, ἀλλὰ—κέκραγα—μηδὲ ταῖς φανότησι τῶν ὀνομάτων λαμπρύνεσθαι . φανὸν γὰρ οὐδέν ἐστιν οὐδὲ λαμπρὰ χάριν αὐτῶν καθ’ ἑαυτὴν πόησις, οὐδὲ καλὸν οὐδὲ καλὴ δι’ αὐτάς εἰ μὴ τὸ πλοχμοί καὶ τὸ ἐσφήκων
