κἀνταῦθα δὲ φα νε ρός ἐστιν ὁ Μ η τρόδωρος οὐ πρὸς τὰ φοβερὰ κοι νως τούτωι χρώμενος. Ἡ γὰρ προσ γησ ἀπόφασις ηνο υ χυ α ὐτῶν. Ἀλλὰ π ῶς ἐ κδέξαι τ' ἄν τις τὰ δοκοῦντα παραδόξως ἀπο φαινομένων; ὅσα γάρ, φησίν, κατὰ τὸ ἐ ξαιφνίδιον καὶ παράδοξον θορύ βων εἴδη, πρότερον εἰπών· πῶς δ' ἄν τις ἐν ἑκάστωι τῶν φοβ ερῶν; ἐπισημαντέον δὲ καὶ ὅσην ἔδειξαν ἀπειροκαλίαν οἱ φάσκοντες
