2 τοῖϲ δὲ δηχθεῖϲιν ὑπ’ αὐτῆϲ παρέπεται ἃμα τῇ δήξει οἴδημα, φλεγμονὴ ἀντίτυποϲ. κοινὰ μὲν οὖν ταῦτα καὶ ἄλλοιϲ διὰ δὲ ταῦτα ὀρεκτικώτεροϲ ὁ πάϲχων γίνεται πολ καυϲούμενοϲ, πλείονοϲ δὲ μεταλαμβάνων ποτοῦ, οὐδὲν ἐκκρίνει οὔτε δι’ οὔρων οὔτε δι’ ἱδρώτων οὔτε δι’ ἐμέτων. ἀπόλλυνται οὖν κατὰ δύο αἰτίαϲ, ἢ δίψῃ πολλῇ πιεζόμενοι, εἰ μὴ λαμβάνοιεν ποτόν, ἢ λαμβάνοντεϲ ποτὸν ἀπὸ πολλῆϲ πληρώϲεωϲ ἢ κατὰ τοὺϲ βουβῶναϲ κάτω ἢ πρὸϲ τῷ ἐπιγαϲτρίῳ ὡϲ ἐπὶ ὑδρωπικῶν τῶν καθ’ ὑπέρχυϲιν ῥηγνυμένων.
