ταῦτα διέκαιε καὶ παρώξυνε τὸν Κράσσον οὐκ ἀλόγως ἐλασσούμενον. Ἐμπειρίᾳς τε γὰρ ἐνδεὴς ἦν καὶ τῶν πράξεων αὐτοῦ τὴν χάριν ἀφῄρουν αἱ συγγενεῖς κῆρες ἐπιφερόμεναι, φιλοκέρδεια καὶ μικρολογία. καὶ γὰρ πόλιν Ὀμβρικὴν Τουδερτίαν ἑλών ἔδοξε πλεῖστα τῶν χρημάτων σφετερίσασθαι, καὶ διεβλήθη πρὸς Σύλλαν.
