22. Σινώπη δὲ ἐπώνυμός ἐστι μιᾶς τῶν Ἀμαζόνων, ὧν πλησίον τὸ χωρίον, ἥν ποτε μὲν ᾤαουν εὐγενεῖς ὄντες Σύριοι, μετὰ ταῦτα δὲ, ὡς λέγουσιν, Ἑλλήνων ὅσοι ἐπ᾿ Ἀμαζόνας διέβησαν, Αὐτόλυκός τε καὶ σὺν Δηϊλέοντι Φλόγιος, ὄντες Θετταλοί. ἔπειτα Ἁβρώνδας γένει Μιλήσιος ὑπὸ Κιμμερίων δʼ οὗτος ἀναιρεῖσθαι δοκεῖ· μετὰ Κιμμερίους Κῷος, πάλιν δὲ Κρητίνης, οἱ γενόμενοι φυγάδες τῶν Μιλησίων. Οὗτοι δὲ συνοικίζουσιν αὐτὴν, ἡνίκα ὁ Κιμμερίων στρατὸς κατέδραμε τὴν Ἀσίαν.
