5. Καὶ ἀπὸ σταδίων ὡςεὶ ὀκτακοσίων κόλπος ἕτερος βαθύτατος, οδ κατὰ τὴν εἰςβολὴν ἐν δεξιοῖς ἄμμος ἐστὶ πολλὴ κεχυμένη, καθʼ ἧς ἐν βάθει κεχωσμένος εὑρίσκεται ὁ ὀψιανὸς λίθος, ἐν ἐκείνῃ μόνῃ τοπικῶς γεν· νώμενος. Βαστλεύει δὲ τῶν τόπων τούτων ἀπὸ τῶν Μοσχοφάγων μέχρι τῆς ἄλλης Bαρβαρίας Ζωσκάλης, ἀκριβὴς μὲν τοῦ βίου καὶ τοῦ πλείονος ἐξεχόμενος, γενναῖος δὲ περὶ τὰ λειπὰ καὶ γραμμάτων Ἑλληνικῶν ἔμπειρος.
