981.—985. χωρεῖτε: ἀποχωρεῖτε· ἐν ἀσφαλεῖ, ἀντὶ τοῦ ἐν οὐδενὶ φόβῳ ἐστὶν ἥδε ἡ ἐρημία. προσφιλὴς μὲν εἶ σὺ, προσφιλὲς δὲ ἐμοὶ καὶ τόδε τὸ στράτευμα τῶν Ἀχαιῶν. ἀλλὰ πρέπει δηλοῦν, ἤτοι λέγειν σὲ, τί τὸν εὐτυχοῦντα πρέπει βοηθεῖν τοῖς μὴ εὐτυχοῦσι φίλοις, ὅτι ἕτοιμός εἰμι ἐγώ. I. ἐν ἀσφαλεῖ γάρ: ἐν οὐδενὶ φόβῳ. δειλοὶ γὰρ οἱ βάρβαροι περιφέροντες τοὺς ἀκολούθους ἑαυτοῖς διὰ τὸ μὴ ἀναιρεθῆναι ὑπό τινος ἀδικηθέντος ὑπʼ αὐτῶν. προσφιλὲς δὲ εἶναι αὐτῷ ὁ Πολυμήστωρ ἔφη τὸ Ἑλληνικὸν στράτευμα διὰ τὸ μὴ συμμαχῆσαι αὐτὸν τοῖς Τρωσί.
