311. στρουθοῖο] ὡς ἀπὸ ὀξυτόνου εὐθείας ἡ ἀνάγνωσις· Χαίριδι δὲ ἤρεσκε βαρύνειν, καὶ ἴσως ἐπεὶ τὰ εἰς θος λήγοντα δισύλλαβα μονογενῆ, φύσει μακρῷ παραληγόμενα, ἐβαρύνετο, Ξοῦθος Ζῆθος καὶ μῦθος· ἔχει δὲ ἡ τετριμμένη ἀνάγνωσις ἀφορμὴν τὸ ἐγκεῖσθαι τὸ θέειν· ἐτυμολογοῦσι γὰρ τὸ ζῶον παρὰ τὸ μετὰ οἴστρου θέειν· τὰ δὲ παρὰ τοῦτο τὸ ῥῆμα ἑωρῶμεν ὀξυνόμενα, ὥσπερ τὸ ἀγαθός καὶ βοηθός.
