420. πόνον δʼ ἀλίαστον ὄφελλεν] τοῦτο καὶ λέξις ὑπόκειται διὰ τοῦ ά τῶν ὑπομνημάτων, καὶ ἔστιν ἐμφατικωτέρα. οὐ χεῖρον δʼ ἂν εἴη τὴν ἐκλογὴν ἐκθεῖναι· ἀλλʼ ΄ογε δέκτο μὲν ἱρὰ, πόνον δʼ ἀλίαστον ὄφελλεν, οἷον αἴσια ἐσήμαινεν, ὥστε λέγειν τοὺς μάντεις ότι δέδε- κται, τοιοῦτον μέντοι πόνον αὐτὸς ηὖξεν, ὃν οὐκ ἂν ἐκκλίνειεν. γε- λοῖον γὰρ ἂν ἦν, εἰ μὴ ἐποίει τοῦτο.
