σὺ* δὲ μήτε πείθεσθαι κτλ.] σύνηθες τοῦτο καὶ ποιηταῖς καὶ λογογράφοις ἀπαρεμφάτοις χρῆσθαι ἀντὶ προστακτικῶν, ὡς καὶ νῦν οὗτος· ἀντὶ γὰρ τοῦ μὴ πείθου εἶπε πείθεσθαι. τοῦτο δὲ οὐχ ὡς ἔτυχε γίνεται, ἀλλ’ ἡνίκα μετὰ ἀπαγορεύσεως ἡ ἔννοια πρόεισιν, οἷον ἀλλά σε κελεύω μὴ τοῦτο ποιεῖν ἀντὶ τοῦ μὴ τοῦτο ποίει, καὶ ὡς τοῦ θεολόγου Γρηγορίου ἢ μὴ διδάσκειν ἢ διδάσκειν τῷ τρόπω· ἀντὶ γὰρ προστακτικῶν τὰ ἀπαρέμφατα κεῖται. ~ VCOSΩ
