ὁλκῷ: τῷ δὲ ὁλκῷ τοῦ σώματος τροχώδη καὶ κυκλοτερῆ ἁλωνίαν εἱλίξατο ἐν τῇ γῇ. ἅλωνα δὲ εἶπε, διότι καὶ αὑται αἱ ἁλωνίαι τροχοειδεῖς καὶ κυκλοτερεῖς εἰσι τῷ σχήματι τῷ τυπουμένῳ τῷ εἱλιγμῷ τῆς ἀσπίδος. ἅλωα: τὴν σπεῖραν, τὸ σῶμα. κυρίως δὲ τὴν νέφωσιν τὴν περὶ τὸν ἥλιον καὶ τὴν σελήνην γινομένην πολλάκις. Ἄλλως. κυρίως ὁ δίσκος τοῦ ἡλίου καὶ τῆς σελήνης· μετενήνεκται δὲ εἰς τὴν τῆς ἀσπίδος περιφέρειαν.
