καρδάμῳ: τὸ δὲ κάρδαμον δριμὺ καὶ πληκτικὸν καὶ πυρῶδες· διὸ καὶ λειχῆνας ἀποσμήχει, λέπρας ἐκτρίβει, ἄνθρακας ῥήσσει, ἔμμηνα κατάγει, πρὸς συνουσίαν ἐπείγει, τὸ νεῦρον τῇ θερμότητι κινοῦν. διὰ ταῦτα πάντα χαλεπὴν τοῖς θηρίοις ἐκπνεῖ ἀναθυμίασιν. ἰσοελκέι δὲ ἴσην ὁλκὴν ἔχοντι, ἤτοι ἰσοστάθμῳ. ἔνοδμον δὲ τουτέστι νεαρόν, ἔτι τὴν ὀσμὴν τοῦ κρέατος ἔχον νεωστὶ ἐσφαγμένου τοῦ ζῴου. ἢ ἔνοδμον νέον, οἷον ἄρτι κοπέν, ἀντὶ τοῦ ὠμόν.
