σαμψύχου κύτισόν τε ἕως τοῦ τιθυμάλλους. Ἀμφίλοχος ἐν τῷ περὶ κυτίσου φυτόν φησιν ὠφέλιμον εἶναι τοῖς θρέμμασιν, ὅτι πλῆθος γάλακτος ποιεῖ. Μικίων δὲ ἐν τῷ περὶ ῥιζοτομικῶν καὶ Κρατεύας τρία εἶναί φασιν εἴδη, καλεῖσθαι δὲ τὸ μὲν πρῶτον ἄρσεν, ὑπό τινων δὲ κώβιον, εἶναι δὲ θαμνίσκον ἔχοντα ῥάβδους ἐρυθράς, τὸ δὲ δεύτερον μυρτίτην, τὸ δὲ τρίτον θυμαλίδα. εὐγλαγέας δὲ αὐτάς φησιν ἀντὶ τοῦ πολὺν ὀπὸν ἐχούσας ἢ γαλακτώδεις, ἤγουν πληθυνούσας τὸ γάλα.
