ἐποκριόωσι: τραχύνονται. ὁποῖαι δὲ χηλαὶ τῶν καρκίνων τῶν πετραίων, τοιαῦται καὶ τῶν σκορπίων ἐοικότων καρκίνοις· ἀφ’ ὧν καρκίνων καὶ τὴν γένεσιν ἔχουσιν οἱ σκορπίοι οὗτοι, περὶ ὧν ὁ λόγος νῦν. [ἄλλως. ἐποκριόωσιν ἀντὶ τοῦ ἐπιτραχύνουσι G]. πάγουρος δὲ λέγεται παρὰ τὸ ἐν τοῖς πάγοις ὀρούειν, τουτέστιν ὁρμᾶν, ἢ παρὰ τὸ τοὺς πάγους οὐρεῖν καὶ φυλάττειν. πάγοι δέ οἱ τραχεῖς καὶ δύσβατοι τόποι.
