Οἰνωπῆς· εἶδος ῥοιᾶς καὶ οἰνάδος. Καὶ προμένειον δ’ εἶδος ῥοιᾶς, ὠνόμασε δ’ αὐτὴν ἀπό τινος Προμένου Κρητός. Καὶ τὴν Αἰγινῖτιν δὲ καὶ ὅσαι τὰ σκληρὰ κάρφη, ἤγουν τοὺς ἁπλοῦς κόκκους κατ’ ἀντίφρασιν, τῇ ἰσχνῇ καλύπτρᾳ καλύπτουσιν· ἢ ὅτι κάρφη τὰ λέπη, τοὺς φλοιούς. Ἄλλως· διαφράσσουσι καλύπτρῃ τῇ ἰσχνῇ περιβολῇ τῶν κόκκων, ὅσαι φησὶ τὰ σκληρὰ καὶ φοίνια ἤγουν ἐρυθρὰ κάρφη, τουτέστι τοὺς ἐρυθροὺς κόκκους, τῇ ἀραχνώδει καὶ ὑμενώδει καλύπτρᾳ διαφράσσουσι, τουτέστι τῷ ἔσωθεν τοῦ δέρματος ὑμένι.
