Γυρώσαιο ἀντὶ τοῦ σκάψειας, ὀρύξειας, καθαλμέα δὲ βώλακα τὸν ὑφάλμυρον βῶλον τῆς γῆς, λέγει δὲ τὸ ἅλας, ἢ τὸν ὀρυκτὸν ἅλα· ἐν ἁλμυροῖς γὰρ τόποις οὐ γίνεται ἡ βδέλλα· διόπερ ποιεῖ τὸ ἁλμυρὸν ὕδωρ πρὸς ἀντιπάθειαν αὐτῆς, ἅλμην δὲ κελεύει πιεῖν Καππαδοκικοῦ ἁλός.
