Θηλυτέρης πώλοιο· πρωτοτόκου γυναικός οὐ γὰρ ἵππου πάντως φησίν· ὅτι δὲ χρήσιμον τὸ γυναικεῖον γάλα, καὶ Ἑρασίστρατος μαρτυρεῖ ἐν τῷ περὶ θανασίμων. Τὸ δ’ ἑξῆς· ἐν ταῖς σταγόσι τοῦ βαλσάμου ποτὸν χέας γάλακτος θηλυτέρας πώλου, ἤτοι τῆς ἀνθρώπου.
