οὐδ᾿ ἂν χρόνος ὁ πάντων πατήρ: τῶν δὲ πεπραγμένων ἔργων τὸ τέλος ἀποίητον καὶ ἀγένητον θέμεν οὐδ᾿ ἂν ὁ πάντων πατὴρ χρόνος δύναιτο, ἀλλ᾿ ἔστιν ἀδύνατον. | καὶ Ὅμηρος (Ι 249)· οὐδέ τι μῆχος ῥεχθέντος κακοῦ ἔστ᾿ ἄκος εὑρεῖν· ἀλλὰ πολὺ πρὶν φράζεσθαί σ᾿ ἄνωγα.
