a. Ἵππαρις: ὁ Ἵππαρις λέγεται τὰς ῥύσεις τῶν ὑδάτων ἔχειν οὐχ ὁμοίας, ἀλλὰ τὴν μὲν γλυκεῖαν, τὴν δὲ πικράν· ὅπερ κρύπτων ὁ ποιητὴς σεμνοὺς ὀχετοὺς λέγει. Ἵππαρις δὲ ποταμὸς Σικελίας· . . . καὶ Καμάριναν, ἵν᾿ Ἵππαρις ἀγκύλον ἕρπει.
