STEPH. BYZ. s. Τέως· πόλις Ἰωνίας ... ἀφ' οὗ ‘Πρωταγόρας ὁ Τήιος’ (Eupolis I 297, 146 K), καὶ ‘Σκυθῖνος ἰάμβων ποιητὴς Τήιος’. DIOG. LAERT. IX 16: Ἱερώνυμος δέ φησι καὶ Σκυθῖνον τὸν τῶν ἰάμβων ποιητὴν ἐπιβαλέσθαι τὸν ἐκείνου (sc. Ἡρακλείτου) λόγον διὰ μέτρου ἐκβάλλειν.
