ἤτοι δέ ἐπὶ τοῖς μὴ οὖσιν ἀγαθοῖς δοκοῦσι δὲ εἶναι, ἢ ἐπὶ τοῖς κατ’ ἀλήθειαν οὖσιν ἐγκωμιάσει ὁ ῥήτωρ. οὔτε δὲ ἐπὶ τοῖς μὴ οὗσι, προσδιαφθείρει γὰρ τοὺς ἐγκωμιαζομένους, οὔτε ἐπὶ τοῖς οὖσιν· ἀγνοεῖ γὰρ ταῦτα, ὅτε καὶ τοῖς φιλοσό- φοις διὰ τὴν ἀνεπίκριτον περὶ αὐτῶν μάχην ἐστὶν ἀκατά- ληπτα.
