Συνελόντι δὲ φάναι, δεδόσθω ταῦτα μέρη εἶναι τῆς ῥητορικῆς. ἀλλʼ ἐπεὶ τὸ δίκαμιον, ὅτι ἐστὶ δίκαιον, καὶ τὸ συμφέρον, ὅτι ἐστὶ συμφέρον, καὶ τὸ καλόν, ὅτι ἐστὶ κα- λόν, ἀποδείξει παρίσταται, καὶ οὐδέν ἐστιν ἡ ἀπόδειξις, οὐδέ ῥητορική τι γενήσεται ἡ ἐπὶ τοιούτοις μέρεσι συν- εστῶσα. ὅτι δέ οὐδέν ἐστιν ἀπόδειξις, ἀκριβέστερον μὲν δείκνυται ἐν τοῖς σκεπτικοῖς ὑπομνήμασιν (ΡΗ ΙΙ) sqq.), ὑπομνηστικώτερον δὲ καὶ νῦν παρασταθήσεται.
