Ὁ δʼ αὐτὸς τῆς ἐπιχειρήσεως τρόπος γινέσθω καἰ ἐπὶ τῶν φύσει ψιλῶν δασέων ἢ καθʼ ἑκάτερον κοινῶν· ἡμῖν δὲ ἀπόχρη τὸ γένος τῆς ἐπιχειρήσεως ὑποδεῖξαι. Καὶ μὴν ἐπεὶ ἀνῄρηται τὰ κοινὰ καὶ δέδεικται τὸ ἐκ- τείνεσθαι μόνον αὐτὰ ἢ συστέλλεσθαι, ἀκολουθήσει καὶ τὸ δισσὸν ὑπάρχειν ἕκαστον, τὸ μὲν φύσει μακρὸν τὸ δʼ αὖ φύσει βραχύ.
