τάξει δὲ λέγωμεν πρῶτον περὶ τῶν κοινῶν. ὁ τοίνυν λέγων εἶναί τι ἀληθὲς ἤτοι ἀποφαίνεται μόνον τὸ εἶναί τι ἀληθὲς ἢ ἀποδείκνυσιν. καὶ εἰ μὲν ψιλῶς ἀποφαίνεται, ψιλῇ φάσει τοὐναντίον ἀκούσεται, ὅτι οὐδέν ἐστιν ἀληθές. εἰ δὲ ἀποδείκνυσιν εἶναί τι ἀληθές, ἤτοι ἀληθεῖ ἀποδείξει τοῦτο ἀποδείκνυσιν ἢ οὐκ ἀληθεῖ. ἀλλ’ οὐκ ἀληθεῖ μὲν οὐκ ἂν εἴπειεν· ἄπιστον γάρ ἐστι τὸ τοιοῦτον. εἰ δὲ ἀληθεῖ, πόθεν ὅτι ἀληθές ἐστι τὸ ἀποδεικνύον τὸ εἶναί τι ἀληθές; εἰ μὲν αὐτόθεν, ἔσται καὶ αὐτόθεν αὐτὸ λέγειν μὴ εἶναι ἀληθές· εἰ δὲ ἐξ
