ἤτοι γὰρ ἑαυτῷ τὸ μῆνιν προστίθεται ἢ τῷ πρου- ποκειμένῳ ἡμιστιχίῳ ἢ τῷ ἐξ ἀμφοτέρων ἀποτελεσθέντι ἡρωικῷ μέτρῳ. καὶ ἑαυτῷ μέν οὐκ ἂν προστεθείη· μὴ ὄν γὰρ ἕτερον ἑαυτοῦ καὶ μὴ διπλασιάζον ἑαυτὸ οὐκ ἂν λέγοιτο ἑαυτῷ προστίθεσθαι. τῷ δὲ προϋποκειμένῳ ἡμιστιχίῳ πῶς ἐνδέχεται; ὅλῳ μέν γὰρ αὐτῷ προστιθέ- μενον καὶ αὐτὸ παρισαζόμενον ἐκείνῳ ἡμιστίχιον γενή- σεται,
