τῇ δὲ τινὸς συνηθείᾳ δεῖν ἀκολουθεῖν εἴπερ ἐροῦσιν, ἤτοι φάσει μόνον. ἐροῦσιν ἢ ἐμμεθόδοις ἀποδείξεσι χρησάμενοι. ἀλλὰ φάσιν μὲν λέγουσι φάσιν ἀντιθήσομεν περὶ τοῦ τοῖς πολλοῖς μᾶλλον ἢ τῷ ἑνὶ δεῖν ἀκολουθεῖν ἐμμεθόδως δέ ἀπο- δεικνύντες ὅτι οὗτος ἑλληνίζει, ἀναγκασθήσονται ἐκείνην τὴν μέθοδον κριτήριον ἑλληνισμοῦ λέγειν διʼ ἣν καὶ οὕτος ἑλληνίζων δέδεικται, ἀλλʼ οὐχὶ τοῦτον.
