οὐκ ἤδεσαν δὲ οἱ θαυ- μάσιοι πρῶτον μὲν ὅτι ὁ εὐμενοῦ ἀξιῶν λέγειν οὐ δώσει αὐτοῖς καθολικὸν εἶναι τὸ παράπηγμα· τοῦτο γοῦν αὐτὸ τὸ εὐμενής ἁπλοῦν ὄνομα καθεστὼς καὶ ὀξύτονον οὐ φή- σει σὺν τῷ σ ἐκφέρεσθαι, ἀλλὰ ἐκείνους τὸ ζητούμενον ὡς ὁμολογούμενον συναρπάζειν.
