ἀλλʼ εἰσί τινες οἱ γελοίως πρὸς τοῦτο ἀπαντῶντες καὶ λέ- γοντες ὅτι ἐκ πλειόνων ἐστὶ τὸ καθολικὸν παράπηγμα. οὐχ ἑώρων γὰρ ὅτι πρῶτον μέν ἄλλο τί ἐστι τὸ καθολι- κὸν καὶ ἄλλο τὸ ὡς ἐπὶ τὸ πολύ, καὶ τὸ μὲν καθολικὸν οὐδέποτε ἡμᾶς διαεψεύδεται, τὸ δʼ ὡς 〈ἐπὶ〉 τὸ πολὺ κατὰ τὸ σὰάνιον·
