ὁμολόγως δὲ τὴν μιὲν ἐντριβῆ ἀνάγνωσιν καὶ τὴν ἐξήγησιν καὶ τὴν κρίσιν τῶν ποιημάτων ἐκ τῆς περὶ ποιητὰς καὶ συγγραφεῖς θεωρίας λαμβάνων, τὴν δέ ἐτυμολογίαν καὶ ἀναλογίαν ἐκ τοῦ τεχνικοῦ, τοῖς δὲ τὸ ἱστορικὸν ἀντεκτιθείς, ἐν ἱστοριῶν καὶ λέξεων ἀποδόσει κείμενον.
