καὶ μὴν εἰ τὸ σημεῖον κατ’ αὐτοὺς ἐν λεκτῷ τὴν ὑπόστασιν ἔχει, τὰ δὲ λεκτὰ εἰ ἐστι ζητεῖται, ἄτοπον, πρὶν ὁμολογηθῆναι τὸ γένος, ὧς βέβαιον λαμβάνειν τὸ εἶδος. ὁρῶμεν δέ, ὡς εἰσί τινες οἱ ἀνῃρηκότες τὴν ὕπαρξιν τῶν λεκτῶν, καὶ οὐχ οἱ ἑτερόδοξοι μόνον, οἷον οἱ Ἐπικούρειοι, ἀλλὰ καὶ οἱ στωικοί, ὧς οἱ περὶ τὸν Βασιλείδην (fr. unic. Arn.), ἔδοξε μὴ ’δεν εἶναι ἀσώματον. τοίνυν ἐν ἐποχῇ φυλακτέον ἐστὶ τὸ σημεῖον.
