καὶ μὴν εἶ μηδὲν ἔστι θεώρημα τέχνης ἴδιον, οὐ διοίσει τῆς ἀτεχνίας ἡ τέχνη. εἰ δ’ ἔστι θεώρημα τέχνης ἴδιον, ἤτοι φαινόμενόν ἐστιν ἢ ἄδηλον. ἀλλὰ φαινόμενον μὲν οὐκ ἂν εἴη· τὰ γὰρ φαινόμενα πᾶσιν ὁμοίως καὶ ἀδιδάκτως φαίνεται. εἰ δὲ ἄδηλον τυγχάνει, διὰ σημείου θεωρηθήσεται. εἰ δὲ ἔστι τι διὰ σημείου θεωρούμενον, ἔσται τι καὶ σημεῖον.
