ἄλ- λως τε ὁ μέν ποιητὴς ἐπὶ προσφερομένων μόνων ἐποιή- σατο τὴν ἀπόφασιν, Ἡπίκουρος δὲ ἐπὶ πάντων τῶν ἀπο- λαυστῶν, ἐν οἷς ἐστι καὶ ἡ ἀφροδίσιος μῖξις, περὶ ἧς πάντες ἴσασιν οἴαν ἔσχε γνώμην Ὅμηρος. τό τε τὸν θά- νατον [μέν] μηδὲν εἶναι πρὸς ἡμᾶς εἴρηται μὲν ἴσως τῷ Σώφρονι (Epicharm. fr. 247 CGV Kaibel), ἀποδέδει- κται δὲ ἓπικούρῳ, καὶ ἔστιν οὐ τὸ εἰπεῖν ἀλλὰ τὸ ἀπο- δεῖξαι θαυμαστόν.
